New Wheels

Today’s the day. We’re finalizing the purchase of a new truck. Kip, one of our sons, needed a truck to replace his Dodge Dakota which is rapidly reaching its timely demise and asked if we would consider selling our truck. Kip doesn’t need a classy truck. He simply needs one that is in good condition and is large enough to hold his lawn mower. In addition to his full-time job as a Madison County Deputy Sheriff, he is also the sole proprietor of Kip’s Affordable Lawn Care. Although we hadn’t thought of selling our truck, we decided maybe it was time for a new one. We also could help Kip in the process. Wheelin’ and dealin’ on the purchase of a vehicle is finely tuned art. It’s amazing what discounts are available. I would have joined the American Quarter Horse Association a couple months ago if I had known about the $500.00 members’ discount on Rangers (and probably on other Ford trucks). I mentioned in Thursday’s blog that we found two Rangers in Carbondale, a red one and a dark gray one, with the options we wanted. Because this is Henri’s vehicle, the dark gray Ranger will soon be his new mode of transportation. Maybe he’ll compromise and let me have red flames painted on the front fenders and hood!
